  Terms & Conditions ""

1. DRIVER

a) Drivers must be between the age of 30 and 70 years of age or under at the time of booking.
b) Must have held a full licence for a minimum of 3 years with driving experience.
c) Licences must be free of driving offences/accidents except for minor speeding/parking offences.
d) If the licence is not of the photo type with paper part, passport and other identity eg. Utility bill dated within the last 3 months will be required.

2. BOOKING PROCEDURES

a) A booking deposit of £250 is required at time of reservation. This will be deducted from the total hire charge at time of paying balances. This deposit is non refundable in the event of cancellation.
b) Telephone booking can be made but only held for a period of 5 days if deposit is not received.
c) Your booking confirmation will be sent to you with an invoice in respect of the balance of hire charges, plus insurance security deposit (£750). This all must be paid at least 28 days prior to commencement of hire.
d) All cheques should be made payable to Gordon Motors.

3. INSURANCE

Full Comprehensive Insurance is included in the hire charge. This is for the vehicle and its equipment only. Hirers are advised to take their own insurance which includes personal possessions. There may be insurance surcharges dependant on driving history, minor convictions, and health restrictions. It is the hirers responsibility to provide full and accurate information. In the event of the motor policy being invalidated because of non disclosure of relevant facts the company will hold the hirer responsible for all losses, fines and any other eventualities.

The motorhome is only insured for the hire period ie collection day & time and return day & time. Driving of the vehicle after the expiry time may result in the driver committing a traffic offence and liable to criminal prosecution under Road Traffic Acts. Furthermore the hirer will be responsible for any accidental damage, injury and consequential after the expiry of the hire period.

The Insurance Security Deposit of £750 is payable prior to the collection of the vehicle. This Deposit will be held against any & every accident in which the hirer was involved.

If the vehicle is returned on time and in a clean and undamaged state with all components & accessories accounted for the Insurance Security Deposit (£750) will be returned to the hirer within 7 days after the end of the hire period.

POSSIBLE CAUSES FOR NON RETURN OF INSURANCE SECURITY DEPOSIT

Toilet cassette not cleaned & emptied £50
Shower & Toilet compartment not clean £30
Empty gas cylinder (1 cylinder must be returned full)
Fridge/Freezer not clean £20
Cooker hob & Grill not clean £20
Tyres damaged price of new tyre & refit
Punctured tyre £15
Windscreen damage cost of replacement
Optional extras if beyond repair cost of repair or replacement
Fuel tank must be full on return
Failure to return on time will be charged at £50 per hour of lateness.

4. BREAKDOWNS/ACCIDENTS/INCIDENTS:

a) Every effort is made to ensure that the motorhome is in a safe and roadworthy condition prior to the hire period. We the company will not be held responsible for any hotel or consequential expenses subsequent to a breakdown.
b) We the company will not be responsible for any 3rd part claims or damages in connection with or consequent upon, any breakdown or accident.
c) In the event of a breakdown /accident AA/RAC services are at the disposal of the hirer 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Instructions for repairs and replacements, at a cost not exceeding £50 may be given by the hirer, who will be reimbursed on submission of a valid receipt explaining the cause.
d) Approval from us the company must be obtained in respect of repairs above this amount(£50)
e) If the vehicle is involved in any accident, however minor full details must be noted on accident report form.
f) The Maximum height of the motorhome is clearly stated. Any overhead damage is the responsibility of the hirer
g) Tyres including puncturers are the responsibility of the hirer.
h) The Hirer shall ensure that all forward facing passengers wear seat belts whilst the vehicle is being driven.
i) There are only 2 sets of keys for the motorhome. We the company keep 1 set and you the hirer has the other.It is therefore essential that the keys are kept safe at all times. All costs to replace keys will be the responsibility of the hirer.

5. FUEL, GAS OIL:

a) A full tank of fuel will be provided when you collect the motorhome. It is expected that it is returned full – otherwise you will be charged the difference.
b) It is the hirers responsibility to check that the oil water levels of the engine are checked on a daily basis.
c) There will be 2 gas cylinders supplied at the start of the hire at least 1 will be full. We expect to have at least one full when it is returned otherwise you will be charged for replacement.

6. SMOKING

Smoking inside the motorhome is strictly prohibited.

7. DOGS

Dogs are not permitted in the motorhome

8. COLLECTION & RETURN

Motorhomes are available for collection in the afternoons, i.e. after mid-day and before 17:00 hours and must be returned before 10:30am on the last day.

a) Failure to return the motorhome within the agreed time on the last day of the day of the hire means the vehicle is not insured and renders the hirer to criminal prosecution. Failure to return on time also incurs a penalty of £100 per day or part thereof, together with any other costs incurred.
b) No refunds will be given back if the motorhome is returned early.
c) Upon return of the motorhome a representative of the company will check the vehicle for damage, cleanliness,shortages,fuel,tyres,washroom area, kitchen/fridge, hired options and any other associated things.

9. CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be in writing and are as follows:

More than 6 weeks before start of hire – loss of deposit

4 – 6 weeks before start of hire - 20% of total hire charge

2 – 4 weeks before start of hire - 50% of total hire charge

2 weeks or less - 100% total hire charge

HIRERS ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO TAKE OUT INSURANCE AGAINST ANY UNAVOIDABLE CANCELLATION

10. AVAILABILITY

Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the motorhome reserved is available,. However if due to circumstances beyond our control the vehicle is not available we will in no way be held responsible and all monies paid will be refunded

We (the company) reserve the right to vary the rates and conditions at any time and to cancel or refuse hire to any person without explanation or prior warning.
